Webs of Deception

Hurtful webs of deception you spin
To cloak emotions that are too real
Unmasking the dark sullen shadows
Reveals the pain inside that you feel

Escaping these torments that hold you
Cannot be achieved by continuous lies
Hiding provided you the perfect escape
Until latent fears emerge and arise

Darkness pervades our sacred bonds
Once established upon complete trust
Dishonesty is your only mistress now
Until the loneliness becomes too much

You wear the mask of a puppeteer
Never showing your tear-stained face
Unable to control the sadness you feel
There's no numbness left to embrace

Caught up in this world you created
Hearts strangled by threads of deceit
Complacent in anguish, not struggling
You must concede to your own defeat.
