' UNTIL YOU NOTICE ME

Photobucket

I always come to this old bar
And sit here on my stool
I look across the dance floor
Start feelin like a fool
I take a sip of my cold beer
And I give another glance
As you get up from your table
To have another dance
The lights turned down soft and low
In the arms of another man
Always with those rich boys
Or a member of the band
Another sip of my cold beer
To cool my burning heart
You see it always burns
Before the music starts
So if I played you a love song
You think I’d have a chance
If I played you a love song
Would it cause your heart to dance
If I played you a love song
Would you sing the melody
If I played you a love song
Would you even notice me
I guess I better tip the waitress
And go about my way
Walk back down that lonely street
Pick up my guitar and play
You see my lonely heart is achin
At the thought of just one dance
I’ve tried before to ask you
But you were always turned away
So in the darkness of this lonely room
I strum a melody
I close my eyes and picture you
Sitting there so close to me
And as I play I shed a tear
*As I heard you whisper my name*
You see, my lonely heart is achin
At the thought of just one dance
So I’ll Play you a love song
And I’ll sing the melody
I’ll keep playin you a love song
Until you notice me
