Children of the Night
Come to me, my children of the night,
You are welcome in my domain.
We are kept from the daytime light.
So here it is that we remain.
We are the ghouls of the graveyard,
The ones that walk the darkened hours,
Our works considered to be Avant-garde,
As if we held special or enlightened powers.
J Todd, proclaimed vampire and demon,
Morrigonchild with verse sent from above.
The rooster and shadow, you won’t see them,
Foreverme and Godschildoflove
Dark Deer, and Poison too,
LoveAngelique, Mick Green, and Private Dancer
Writing seemingly just for you
Read their works for the hidden answer.
Jones with his writings deep and profound,
Boomercole who’s found a new start.
Cheryl Klassen who’s talent is unbound
All of our poets write from the heart.
Angelic51 and April Lynne Logue,
Spill their captivating ink.
Bob Gotti, Frog First, and even Yue,
XRifles, Encarta, and Yes Insync.
All make up the childen of the night,
Posters while our world has fallen dark,
Though at times we fuss and fight.
Each poet leaves their own mark.
They all add to the Star Lite Café,
And I love them all like Family.
Each has their own story to say,
And I hope they also care for me.
If your name is not mentioned above,
It’s not that I do not care.
Not that you get any less love,
Or have anything less to share.
But there are just too many here to name,
And this a just a show of diversity,
You don’t mean any less, you are the same,
A part of our night time family.
We love you one and all,
Writers and readers alike.
Kind of an internet roll call,
An Online Open mic.
So enjoy our graveyard and read,
Take away a lesson learned.
Hope you enjoyed and fulfilled a need
And found of what you yearned!
Dedicated to all the poets who post here in the darkened hours, and who make time for their writing aside from a normal life! You all are very blest people in my book and I concider EVERY one family!
