The years have gone by,
So painfully slow
It seemed it

Yet, it was

We went to war
As young men must do
Many died,
More than just a few
We were young
As we went to war
Just a year later
We returned
As old men
That was way, back when
We were then
Young and thin
As we grow older
Our thoughts
Return to that time
Long, long ago
And our hair is now
The hue of snow
No, it is not
We Were Soldiers
It is we are STILL
Soldiers
As we once were
And we still are
