Guiding Star

You are the star for which all evenings wait
A magical wishing star our hearts believe in
A shinning beacon holding the secrets of fate
Once the darkness falls your spell begins
Winking from up above with that twinkling grin

Mysteries unfold in the absence of sunlight
The world is different once shadows appear
Your guidance leads us safely through night
With your glow cast we are left without fear
Though miles away your presence feels near

You are the wishing star filled with such hope
A reason to believe when everything feels dark
You remind us through anything we can cope
Your smile shows us there is beauty in the dark
Lighting inside our hearts hope's familiar spark

If we hold on to hope and refuse to surrender
Happiness becomes much easier to attain
We will find ourselves enjoying life's splendor
Grateful that our star brought us through the rain
Always twinkling should our need rise again
